We recommend that you review the About the Journal page for the journal's section policies, as well as the Authors Guidance and Manuscript Formats. Authors need to register with the journal prior to submitting or, if already registered, can simply log in and begin the five-step process.
Previous Submissions Policy
Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. Any instances of plagiarism will be automatically declined and the said authors will be prevented from resubmitting to the JoCE. The JoCE will accept unpublished dissertations as well as conference summaries/papers that were not previously published in conference proceedings so long as these are revised according to our submission guidelines.
Submissions must arrive before 1 February to be considered for publication in the March edition.
See the Authors Guidance and Manuscript Formats for more details on the requirements of each paper.
Ethics Statement
JoCE adheres to the Code of Conduct and Best-Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors (Committee on Publication Ethics, COPE, 2011; details are included in the submission preparation checklist below). Our Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement (PEMS) can be found here. Authors will be asked to verify their adherence to these principles upon submission of their work.
The JoCE allows authors full copyright over their published articles. No payment or copyright fee is required.
Review Process
The Editorial team first reviews all papers submitted to check whether they are appropriate for the journal’s readership and in accordance with the editorial policy and aims of the journal. Following this, the paper is sent to anonymous reviewers for blind review, unless otherwise stated. All papers submitted to the journal must conform to the submission guidelines. Review time is approximately 4 weeks.
See Authors Guidance and Manuscript Formats for more details about the review process.
Submission Guidelines
Every submission must include a title page as a separate document from the manuscript. The title page should include the title, full names, institutional affiliation, country, e-mail addresses, and contact numbers of the author/s. This single page will be uploaded as a supplementary file in step 4 of the submission process.
Authors should prepare manuscripts according to APA style and follow the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (latest edition). Typing instructions and instructions on preparing tables, figures, references, metrics, and abstracts appear in the Manual.
Figures and tables should be placed within the manuscript, Not in an appendix.
If your article is accepted for review, you may be asked to layout the article in the JoCE format.
The length of articles, excluding appendices and references, should not exceed the word length set for each paper. We may make exceptions in some cases.
See Authors Guidance and Manuscript Formats for more details on the requirements of each paper.

A note on the title page must explicitly state the date and version of the draft deposited (e.g., version submitted for peer review, version accepted for publication). Authors may post a link to the published articles on a personal or institutional or scientific network website (e.g., ResearchGate).
